Our Fortune 50 retail client is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to support corporate tax compliance, financial reporting, and month-end accounting activities. This contractor will play a key role in preparing tax filings, maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, supporting financial close processes, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and corporate accounting requirements.The ideal candidate has experience supporting tax functions within a large, publicly traded organization and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across Finance, Tax, and business teams.Assignment ResponsibilitiesPrepare monthly journal entries and support the month-end and year-end close processes.Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and balance sheet reconciliations.Prepare and review financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.Support the preparation of federal, state, and other corporate tax compliance filings.Respond to internal and external audit requests by gathering documentation and providing technical support.Research tax regulations and accounting guidance to ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies.Provide accounting guidance related to cost accounting, tax reporting, and financial transactions.Participate in budgeting and financial planning activities as needed.Analyze financial data using advanced Excel techniques to identify trends, variances, and process improvements.Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve accounting and tax-related issues while ensuring timely and accurate reporting.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.5+ years of accounting or corporate tax experience.Experience supporting corporate tax compliance for a large, publicly traded organization.Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and complex formulas.Experience working with a major ERP system such as SAP or SAP S/4HANA.Strong tax research, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.Preferred QualificationsExperience with OneSource Income Tax or similar corporate tax technology platforms.Experience preparing withholding tax or other indirect tax reporting.CPA certification or progress toward certification.Previous experience supporting Fortune 500 or publicly traded companies.#J-18808-Ljbffr
