We exist to provide tax planning, regulatory reporting and consulting to stakeholders, governments, external auditors and business leaders. As we grow in complexity and global footprint, we seek to influence business decisions, reduce tax liability and mitigate risk.The primary responsibilities of the Sr. Accountant, Sales Tax Compliance, will support the Sales Tax Compliance Function by assisting with state and local sales and use tax compliance for Operators, Chick‑fil‑A, Inc. and related affiliates. The Sr. Accountant shall work under limited supervision and confer with the supervisor on unusual matters. The Sr. Accountant will also contribute to the growth and development of the Tax Department through active participation in department meetings, conferences, webinars and professional/personal development.ResponsibilitiesProcess, file and remit state and local sales tax returns and payments for Operators and Chick‑fil‑A, Inc. in moderately to complex taxing jurisdictions.Manage and oversee sales tax rate research for restaurants and off‑site sales locations, including delivery locations; registrations for ADP and catering/delivery location; reconcile sales tax accounts; resolve tax notices and perform related sales tax accounting responsibilities. This includes other trust‑fund taxes such as meals tax, food & beverage, public improvement fee, retail delivery fee, bag taxes, and use tax.Have thorough knowledge of sales tax compliance to proactively identify and solve minimally to moderate complex sales tax compliance issues. A People Leader/Team Leader may offer guidance in areas where less insight or experience may exist.Work independently with limited supervision, capable of answering routine sales tax compliance questions and responding to operators and governmental tax agencies in a timely manner.Assist and contribute to efforts around compliance, audit or complex sales tax projects; may lead small, low‑risk projects independently outside the scope of current work; expected to meaningfully contribute to larger projects/processes.Work performed considerably influences other accountants, functional partners, innovation and standardization.
