This role supports accurate financial reporting, maintains the integrity of the general ledger, and ensures compliance with GAAP and internal controls. The Senior Accountant works closely with finance leadership, portfolio company teams, and external auditors to support timely close processes and high-quality financial reporting. The position requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with multiple entities, complex transactions, and investor reporting requirements.Financial Close & General LedgerLead or support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processesPrepare and review journal entries and account reconciliationsMaintain accuracy and integrity of the general ledger across multiple entitiesAnalyze balance sheet accounts and resolve variancesEnsure timely completion of close checklists and supporting documentationFinancial ReportingAssist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting packagesSupport variance analysis and financial commentary for leadershipMaintain schedules supporting key balance sheet and income statement accountsEnsure consistency of reporting across portfolio entitiesComplex TransactionsAccount for acquisitions, discontinued operations, intercompany transactions, and consolidationsMaintain schedules related to debt, interest calculations, and covenant reportingAssist with purchase accounting and fair value adjustmentsAudit & CompliancePrepare audit schedules, support, and coordinate external audit requestsMaintain documentation supporting internal controls and accounting policiesEnsure compliance with GAAP and company accounting standardsProcess ImprovementIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reduce manual workAssist with system implementations or ERP improvementsHelp maintain standardized processes across entitiesQualificationsEducation:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceCPA, MBA, or Master's in Accounting preferred (often strongly preferred in PE environments)Experience:2-6+ years accounting experiencePublic accounting or Big-4 / national firm background strongly valuedExperience in multi-entity or PE-backed environments preferredPrior DSO or healthcare accounting experience preferredTechnical Skills:Strong knowledge of US GAAPAdvanced Excel skills (Xlookup, Pivot Tables, nested formulas, etc.) requiredExperience using data cubes preferredExperience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Great Plains, etc.)Ability to manage large data sets and reconciliationsPersonal Attributes:High attention to detailAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsEffective communicator with cross-functional teamsWe value teamwork, mutual respect and cooperation.
