Zurich North America is hiring an Underwriting Analyst – E&S Financial Lines to work from our Scottsdale, AZ office, with a hybrid schedule requiring office presence three days a week.ResponsibilitiesReview, evaluate, and analyze risk exposures, controls, loss history, and financial condition to recommend or execute underwriting decisions within established risk appetite.Anticipate underwriting exposure information needs and proactively seek alternative, relevant data sources using underwriting tools to improve risk understanding.Analyze and provide input on policy rating, subjective pricing, policy construction, coverages, exclusions, mandatory forms, and other elements necessary for accurate quoting and renewal of policies (including bonds).Develop and execute account servicing solutions independently and in collaboration with underwriters, managing end‑to‑end servicing processes for new business, renewals, and endorsements for complex business accounts.Drive broker, agent, distributor, and customer interactions and on‑site calls related to account servicing matters, building strong working relationships outside the team and with broker counterparts.Develop new team members and provide coaching and support to peers based on quality results. Coach and solve complex transactions/issues while educating peers on the context behind the solution.Support special projects as assigned.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree and two or more years of experience in the insurance, underwriting, or market‑facing area, ORZurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including associate degree and two or more years of experience in the insurance, underwriting, or market‑facing area, ORHigh school diploma or equivalent and four or more years of experience in the insurance, underwriting, or market‑facing area.Knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory environment.Experience with data collection and analysis.Experience with processing, rating, and policy management systems used in the insurance industry.Customer service experience.Problem‑solving experience.Experience servicing product portfolios for multiple lines of business for insurance.Microsoft Office experience.Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of underwriting philosophy and techniques.Knowledge of national and local insurance filing regulations and guidelines.Knowledge of international insurance programs.Compensation and BenefitsThe proposed salary range for this position is $54,500.00 – $89,200.00, with short‑term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
