Where you live.About the RoleMatter Health is seeking an experienced and strategic Regional Medical Director to provide physician leadership across our Southeast markets. This role will partner closely with operational and clinical leaders to support care delivery, provider performance, quality initiatives, and continued market growth.Our physicians care for older adults living in affordable housing communities—many of whom face significant barriers to accessing healthcare. The ideal candidate is a mission‑driven physician leader who is passionate about improving outcomes for underserved populations while supporting providers and clinical teams across multiple markets.The Regional Medical Director will serve as a key clinical leader responsible for ensuring high‑quality care delivery while helping drive clinical strategy, provider engagement, operational excellence, and patient outcomes.This is a highly collaborative role for a physician leader who enjoys building teams, improving processes, and supporting healthcare innovation in community‑based environments.What You'll DoProvide clinical leadership and oversight across assigned Southeast marketsPartner closely with Operations, Clinical, and Executive leadership teams to support growth initiatives and strategic objectivesSupport physician and advanced practice provider performance, mentorship, and developmentDrive quality improvement initiatives and ensure delivery of high‑quality patient careAssist in developing and standardizing clinical workflows, protocols, and best practicesMonitor clinical performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvementCollaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve patient outcomes and operational effectivenessSupport provider recruitment, onboarding, and retention effortsParticipate in clinical program development and implementation effortsServe as a clinical ambassador and leader within Matter Health communitiesWhat We're Looking ForActive MD or DO licenseBoard certification required5+ years of physician leadership experience preferredExperience leading providers or multi‑site healthcare operations strongly preferredExperience within value‑based care, population health, primary care, or community‑based healthcare environments preferredStrong leadership, communication, and relationship‑building skillsDemonstrated experience driving operational improvements and clinical initiativesDemonstrated ability to lead through growth, change, and organizational expansionAbility to travel throughout Tennessee and the Southeast region as needed (approximately 25–40%)Preferred QualificationsMulti‑market or regional leadership experienceExperience supporting underserved or senior populationsMedicare Advantage or value‑based care experienceExperience collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teamsPassion for serving vulnerable, underserved, or aging populationsDemonstrated ability to build strong relationships across clinical and operational teamsWhat Success Looks LikePartner effectively with Regional Operations leadership to drive market performanceSupport and develop physicians and advanced practice providers across assigned marketsImprove quality, patient outcomes, and provider engagementHelp scale Matter Health's integrated care model throughout the SoutheastServe as a trusted clinical leader who balances operational excellence with compassionate patient‑centered careWhy Matter HealthWe believe that where someone lives should never determine the care they receive.
