Your day‑to‑day work will include:Set up, program, operate, and maintain CNC machines to manufacture precision parts from detailed blueprintsPerform machining operations such as milling, drilling, reaming, boring, turning, facing, and more—holding tight tolerancesSelect operation sequences, tools, feeds, speeds, and fixtures required for each jobRead, write, and troubleshoot machine G‑code (Haas programming)Develop or modify tools and fixtures for unique or non‑standard operationsInspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, height gauges)Follow all safety requirements and shop best practicesPerform additional duties as assigned to support shop operationsWhat You BringRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum 1 year of related machining experienceProven experience with CNC setup and operationAbility to read and interpret detailed engineering drawingsWorking knowledge of Haas CNC programming (G‑code)Familiarity with standard inspection and measurement toolsStrong attention to detail and qualityClear communication skills and a team‑oriented mindsetPreferred ExperienceHands on experience with equipment such as Haas VF Vertical Mills, Haas EC Horizontal Mills, Datron machines, or similar CNC platformsSolid understanding of machine tools and fixturingWorking EnvironmentStanding and walking on concrete floors for portions of the shiftLifting and carrying materials up to 50 lbs. occasionallyWorking near rotating spindles and machining equipmentRequired use of safety glasses, steel‑toe boots, and hearing protection as neededOccasional forklift operationWhy Elma?A stable, team‑driven manufacturing environmentModern CNC machining equipmentOpportunities to apply your craftsmanship to meaningful, precision engineered workA culture that prioritizes safety, quality, and continuous improvementReady to Put Your Skills to Work?If you're a detail‑oriented Machinist who enjoys solving technical challenges and takes pride in high quality results, we'd love to hear from you.
