Join Pond & Company and be part of the team that's redefining the future of Architectural, Engineering, Planning, Construction Management, and Environmental projects!About the PositionPond is seeking an Electrical Engineer III to join our growing Energy team.This role will support a diverse portfolio of projects primarily focused on oil & gas and aviation fueling systems (military and commercial), with additional opportunities to contribute to renewable energy and utility projects.The successful candidate will be a strong individual contributor within Pond's Energy electrical team, supporting multidisciplinary projects across the planning, design, and construction phases. This position is well‑suited for an engineer with 6–9 years of experience who is capable of executing electrical design tasks independently, contributing to technical problem‑solving, and growing toward increased technical leadership.Experience and QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology6–9 years of professional electrical engineering experienceProfessional Engineer (PE) license preferred or actively pursuing licensureWorking knowledge of IEEE standards, API guidelines, and NFPA 70 (NEC)Familiarity with additional NFPA codes including NFPA 101, 407, 497, and 780; IBC familiarity a plusExperience supporting electrical design for fueling systems, oil & gas facilities, industrial plants, or energy infrastructure projectsProficiency with industry‑standard tools including AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM, and applicable vendor softwareExperience preparing electrical construction drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical narrativesAbility to collaborate effectively with Electrical CAD Designers and multidisciplinary engineering teamsExperience interfacing with clients, plant engineers, operators, and contractors under guidance of senior staffStrong written and verbal communication skillsElectrical Design & EngineeringSupport electrical design for fuel terminals, LNG facilities, oil & gas midstream systems, compression stations, and aviation fueling systemsDevelop and support low‑ and medium‑voltage power distribution systems, grounding and bonding, lighting, motor control, heat trace, and standby power systemsAssist with hazardous area classification reviews and compliant equipment selection and wiring methodsApply applicable codes, standards, and client requirements to develop compliant design deliverablesPrepare electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, and design narratives with review from senior engineersAnalysis & DocumentationPerform electrical calculations including load flow, short circuit, coordination, arc flash, voltage drop, and conductor sizingDevelop one‑line diagrams, panel schedules, load lists, conduit and cable schedules, equipment layouts, and installation detailsCoordination & ExecutionCoordinate electrical scope with mechanical, civil, structural, and I&C disciplines to ensure design alignmentSupport controls and instrumentation interfaces, including PLC I/O diagrams, SCADA coordination, and motor starting methods (VFDs, soft starters, MCCs)Review vendor submittals and packaged equipment under supervision of senior staffParticipate in design reviews, constructability reviews, and technical coordination meetingsConstruction & Project SupportSupport construction activities including RFIs, submittal reviews, site visits, field verifications, and commissioning supportCommunicate technical issues and design clarifications to project teams and clients as neededDevelopment & GrowthProvide redlines and technical input to Electrical CAD DesignersSupport and mentor junior engineers and designers as appropriateContribute to proposal development, technical approaches, and project planning activities as requestedBenefitsAdditional cash incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial and/or other benefits dependent on position offered.Equal Opportunity EmployerWe are an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer that recognizes the value of diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
