THE ROLEAn Ethos Classical Board Member serves as a steward of the school's mission, ensuring that all governance, strategy, and decision-making support the success of scholars in a rigorous curriculum within a structured, supportive community. Board members provide oversight, guidance, and accountability for school leadership while helping to advance long-term sustainability, growth, and community impact. This is a high‑commitment role requiring both deep alignment with the mission and the capacity to contribute meaningfully through time, expertise, and influence.THE PERSONAs a Board Member, You WillChampion and safeguard the mission, vision, and model of Ethos ClassicalServe as an ambassador for Ethos Classical in the broader communityProvide strategic oversight and accountability to school leadershipActively participate in board meetings, committees, planning sessions, and annual training requirementsContribute expertise in key areas such as finance, law, fundraising, or community leadershipLeverage your network and influence to support school growth and partnershipsEngage in fundraising efforts and make a personally meaningful annual contributionCollaborate with fellow board members in thoughtful, principled decision-makingCommit time and attention to preparation, follow‑through, and active engagementTHE MUST HAVESPrior Experience10+ years of leadership and demonstrated impact in one or more of the following areas:FinanceLawFundraising/developmentExperience serving on boards or in prior governance roles preferredEducationBachelor's degree required.
