Upholstery CraftsmanDuration: 12-months with intended annual extensionsWork schedule: Atlanta GA (100% On-site)Schedule/Shift: Monday-Friday standard, some WeekendsPosition overviewThe client Upholstery Craftsman role is an integral position in our Factory Restoration business unit, conducting restoration, preservation, personalization, and repair services consistent with client factory standards for client vehicles. The role supports our upholstery workshop, including execution of all interior projects, preparation of customer estimates and project plans, participation in end-of-project quality reviews, and support for completed project vehicles ready for customer delivery. The individual will also contribute to the development and implementation of the Classic Factory Restoration and Sonderwunsch strategies.Roles & responsibilitiesPrimary responsibilitiesPerform vehicle upholstery restoration, preservation, and personalization servicesRecommend and perform upholstery services on but not limited to all interior vehicle components to Porsche factory standardsReview repair orders, maintain production status database, and discuss work with supervisorsInteract with vehicle owning customers as part of the project teamExplain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals, including employees and customers, as requiredFind parts and available materials, synchronize workflow and coordinate vehicle cycle, put together parts and material, visually check for identity and errors, report material availability to managersSupport cost estimates for repairs including labor time and materialsPlan work procedures using charts, technical manuals, and check the quality parameters and completeness of the work carried out on the basis of the content of proceduresExamine vehicles and framework for defects, make repairs as needed prior to upholstery application and other finish workFollow checklists to ensure all important parts are examinedMonitor and work closely with the Classic Team to achieve the Porsche Classic and Factory Restoration qualitative and quantitative targets (KPIs); recommend plans to improve them if necessaryPerform care and cleaning work according to the plan or as needed of parts, vehicle or work spaceSupport test drives, correct deficiencies, and perform final inspection of vehicles or the assembly; implement safety proceduresMaintain necessary training to meet Porsche Classic StandardsUse power and hand tools to apply and install batting, foam, poly‑filler and cut fabric to steel and/or carbon fiber frameworkAttach finishes, including trim, stitching, piping, and other accessories to complete projects to required specificationsMeasure and cut fabric or leather materials with the aid of patterns or stencils and industrial cutting tools to precise sizes and dimensionsOperate portable hand‑sewing equipment, nail guns, hobnail and tack hammers, hot‑knife cutters, and other industrial equipmentManage and report on project execution, problem solve with supervisors to improve workshop efficiencyPerform 5S in the upholstery workshop and support throughout the full Restoration facilityQualifications – EducationAutomotive technical degree preferredHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredRequired qualifications include7 years' experience in vehicle upholstery repair and manufacturingUpholstery experience on various substrate materials such as aluminium, steel, carbon fibre, and carbon Kevlar5 years' experience in concours level vehicle upholstery maintenance, repair, and manufacturing5 years' experience in fabric material, adhesive, and special tool procurementPreferred qualifications include3 years' experience in vehicle upholstery of classic client vehiclesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to effectively manage multiple projectsFluency in English (oral/written)Highly organized, target oriented mindset, works well without close supervisionAbility to set and meet challenging deadlinesExcellent interpersonal skillsHigh possession of Porsche passionGerman language a plusExcellent knowledge of Classic range of client VehiclesExcellent knowledge of Porsche interior partsProficient in Porsche special tools and service equipmentProficient in computer skillsExperience with CDK software desiredValid Driver's licenseClean Driving RecordAbility to drive a manual transmission vehicleTravel10% required travelAbility to travel internationally#J-18808-Ljbffr
