Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Adjunct Instructor (Automotive Diesel) position in the Academic & Student Affairs division, Industrial and Transportation Technology department. This position is located at Atlanta Tech's Main campus just south of Downtown Atlanta.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and review program and syllabi, goals and objectives according to approved curriculum and course syllabi, standards.Demonstrate effective use of oral and written communication skills and knowledge of current procedures in the Automotive/Diesel field.Evaluate and review students' progress in attaining goals and objectives.Instruct, advise and counsel students and maintain appropriate advisement records on each student.Monitor use of supplies, materials, and equipment.Request and maintain supplies and equipment and prepare budget requests.Maintain and review classrooms and laboratories in accordance with approved classroom and lab management plans.Maintain and review program certification requirements, as appropriate.Prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports.Attend staff development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences.Ensure safety and security requirements are met in U1e training area.Meet with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues.Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.Demonstrate and ensure the use of appropriate and effective teaching techniques, testing and grading procedures (including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record‑keeping requirements).Serve on committees, as needed.Maintain ASE certifications and ensure instructor's qualifications for employment as described by the Atlanta Technical College, Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and accreditation standards.Follow and enforce rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution.Possess and utilize excellent oral and written communication skills.Perform additional duties, as assigned.Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent AND a post‑secondary diploma in Automotive or Diesel technology.Relevant ASE certification in diesel technology specializations.Two (2) or more years working in the field.Experience working with heavy equipment is a plus.Must possess the competencies, skills, and knowledge level a diesel technology instructor will be expected to bring to the classroom.Must possess and demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.Atlanta Technical College does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, gender, religion, disability, age, political affiliation or belief, veteran status, or citizenship status, except as permitted or mandated by law.#J-18808-Ljbffr
