Position DetailsTitle: Visiting Professor in PsychologyLocation: Morehouse College – Atlanta, GAAppointment Type: One-year Visiting Faculty PositionMorehouse College, Atlanta, GA – The Division of Science, Technology, and Mathematics (STEM) invites applications for a one-year Visiting Professor appointment within the Department of Psychology. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach undergraduate research methods and statistics courses.ResponsibilitiesTeach and advise undergraduate studentsSupervise student research projectsParticipate in the life and culture of the departmentTeach research methods and statisticsUse and teach SPSS and/or R statistical packagesDevelop course content and materials to support learning outcomes and departmental requirements, if anyPrepare, administer, and grade assignments and examinations in a timely manner, providing feedback to support student successSchedule and maintain appropriate office hours and communicate with students using the Morehouse networkUtilize instructional technology platforms such as Banner, Blackboard, and StarfishRequired QualificationsMaster's degree in Psychology or a related field (Ph.D. or Psy.D. preferred)Preferred QualificationsDoctoral degree with experience teaching multiple areas of psychologyExperience with active learning and teaching diverse student populationsPreferred Skills, Knowledge, and AbilitiesKnowledge of psychological theory, research, and practiceAbility to teach SPSS and/or RStrong understanding of evidence-based teaching practicesAbility to design and deliver engaging, inclusive instructionStrong assessment, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to manage course responsibilities independentlyCommitment to academic integrity and institutional policiesCompensationCompensation commensurate with the position and qualifications.Application DeadlineMay 15Start DateAugust 3Morehouse College is an equal opportunity employer.
