Job Description
TITLE
Perioperative Nurse - CVOR
SCHEDULE
- Weekend rotation: details discussed during interview
- Call: variable - typically one weekday call/week and one weekend every ~5-6 weeks
ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
- Contract Length: 8 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience required
- Preferred: experience in community hospital and Trauma Level I/II
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
- Charting system: Epic (required)
- Relevant clinical skills: cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular perioperative experience; experience with CABG, valve surgery/TAVR, LVAD, IABP, carotid/vascular procedures, pulmonary resections/VATS
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide patient-centered care in a fast-paced perioperative environment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Administer medications and monitor vital signs during procedures
- Assist with surgical procedures and maintain sterile environments
- Educate patients and families on pre-operative and post-operative care
COMPLIANCE / NOTES
- Full compliance required to start on time; compliance documentation deadline is the Tuesday prior to start
- Candidates must submit core items and schedule labs within 48 hours of signing contract
- A GA or Compact nursing license must be in hand at the time of submittal
- Two supervisory references (manager or above) highly preferred at submission
- Mandatory $125 pre-application fee for CVOR First Assistant, OR Tech First Assistant, and RNFA privileging
- Modules completed during orientation; modules are non-billable and hours factored into NBO
