Adjunct Instructor (Health Information Management Technology) - Part-TimeAtlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic candidate for its Adjunct Health Information Management Technology Instructor position in the Health and Public Safety Technology department of the Academic & Student Affairs Division. This position is located on ATC's Main campus, just south of downtown Atlanta, GA.Under general supervision of the Dean of Health and Public Safety Technologies, the Adjunct Health Information Management Technology (HIMT) Instructor will be a part-time (adjunct) faculty member that teaches in the Health Information Management Technology program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to helping students develop essential computer skills. The position involves creating and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and contributing to the overall success of the students. Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions of employment appointed on a per academic term basis, up to twenty-nine (29) hours per week.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and deliver course content in alignment with the curriculum.Provide instruction on health information systems, medical coding, data analytics, and healthcare compliance.Evaluate student performance through assignments, exams and projects.Stay updated on industry trends to help students achieve their academic and career goals.Maintain accurate records of student attendance and grades.Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.Complete no‑show reporting in a timely manner.Attend meetings and perform other duties of service to the college and academic program.Perform other duties as assigned.Problem‑solving/critical‑thinking skills.Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organization and planning skills.Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.Minimum QualificationsMust possess and demonstrate the following:A degree in Health Information Management Technology (RHIT or RHIA).Registered Health Information Administrator.Experience teaching or training in a healthcare or academic setting.Use of learning platforms.Prior teaching experience in computer literacy or related subjects. Experience in a technical college setting is a plus.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree.RHA / RHT credentials.Four or more years of experience teaching or training in a healthcare or academic setting.May be required to teach at other locations within the community.Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies.
