Role Overview The Director of Learning and Development will operate in a complex, regulated insurance environment, with focuses on building scalable people capabilities, supporting leaders through change, and creating a culture of continuous learning and performance.The Director of Learning & Organization Development is responsible for leading and advancing enterprise effectiveness by strengthening leadership capability, organizational health and workforce readiness.Over the next 12 months, the Director will balance strategic leadership with direct program ownership and execution while serving as a hands‑on leader during a period of growth and team scaling.Responsibilities Learning Strategy & Business Alignment: serve as a strategic Organizational Development partner to senior leaders, diagnose organizational needs, design solutions aligned to business strategy, growth and transformation initiatives.Develop and execute an enterprise‑wide learning strategy aligned with AssuranceAmerica's business objectives and culture.Partner with HR and operational leadership to identify capability gaps and prioritize learning solutions.Ensure learning initiatives support operational effectiveness, regulatory compliance and customer experience.Influence, strengthen and grow production, profitability and partnership of Agent partners.Build scalable frameworks and content that can be transitioned to the L&D team as capacity increases.Program Design & Execution: own the design and evolution of leadership development experiences for front‑line leaders, mid‑level managers and high‑potential talent.Spearhead and optimize learning effectiveness and efficiency through Instructional Design and related systems, processes and technology.Lead and collaborate with team to administer new hire orientation, performance management, key projects, and ad‑hoc requests.Directly design and deliver select learning programs during team growth and transition.Team & Governance: lead, coach and develop the Learning & Development team; establish performance expectations, priorities and development plans.Partner with leaders and subject matter experts to ensure learning content is accurate, relevant and compliant.Manage external partners, coaches and vendors as extensions of internal capability.Own budget prioritization to ensure spend aligns to highest organizational value.Leadership & Team Development: partner with Talent Management to align developmental programs with performance management, succession planning and internal mobility.Own the learning technology ecosystem including LMS administration and Workday.Define and track KPIs to measure effectiveness, adoption and business impact of learning programs.Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business, Instructional Design, or related field.8+ years of progressive experience in Learning & Development or Talent Development.Experience leading an L&D team or function.Experience supporting operational, customer‑facing or regulated workforces.Knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.Professional oral and written communication skills.Demonstrated collaboration, resilience and perseverance through challenging environments.Ability to travel 20% of the time.Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in related discipline.Experience in the insurance or financial services industry.Professional certifications such as CPLP, SHRM‑SCP, SPHR, PHR or ATD credentials.Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Prolonged periods of standing and walking.Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization's physical premises.Benefits Premium healthcare plans: full‑time and part‑time associates 30+ hours eligible day one.Employer‑paid benefits: Group Life and AD&AD Insurance, Short‑ and Long‑Term Disability Plans, Employee Assistance Program, Travel Assist, Benefit Resource Card.Corporate lunches three times a week.401(k) Employer Match: 100% of the first 4% of contributions for associates over 21 after 3 months.Annual Learning Credit up to $5,250.Paid Time Off, Parental Leave Pay, Volunteer Time Off, Bereavement Pay, Military Leave Pay, Jury Duty Pay.#J-18808-Ljbffr
