The Tax group is a dedicated team of professionals who work in conjunction with our wealth advisors to provide tax compliance services to our high-net-worth clients. We are looking for someone who loves client service but does not enjoy the headaches of billable hours in a traditional public accounting firm. We do not do audits or assurance work, and there are no business development requirements.As a member of the Tax Team, the Tax Manager is primarily responsible for leading client relationships, preparing, reviewing and delivering income tax returns, tax projections, and analysis for our clients. The Tax Manager has a passion for client service with experience in individual and entity tax preparation and review. The Tax Manager is personable, demonstrates superior communication skills, and possesses the flexibility to multi‑task in a fast‑paced tax services environment.Essential Job FunctionsPrepare, review and sign tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and businessesCreate quarterly estimates and projectionsResponsible for clear & concise communication with clients on all matters related to the delivery of income tax returnsPerform tax researchRespond timely and accurately to tax questions, estimates, projections, and analysis with both tax and wealth management clientsWork with tax staff to respond to tax notices and review of correspondenceStay up to date on tax law and any changes, as well as communicate the effects of the law changes to clientsMentor a team of Senior Tax Associates, Tax Associates, and/or Tax Support Specialists in the local office or region, as assignedAll other duties as assignedRequired Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesMinimum 5+ years of public accounting experience, or equivalent experienceBachelor's degree in Accounting or related fieldStrong tax code knowledge and general accounting skillsCPA or EA requiredMaster's degree in Tax a plusExperience with CCH, including Axcess, Workflow and Practice, and SafeSend, a plusHighly organized and tax-orientedAbility to handle a large volume of activities at one timeAbility to communicate concepts to clients and advisors in concise and understandable fashionMust be detail-oriented and have excellent time-management skillsWork ScheduleThis professional role requires availability during standard business hours of Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, and Saturdays as needed during tax season. At times, the role may have early or late hours to meet business tasks and deadlines for external and internal client needs.Working ConditionsThis position may be in a professional office environment or a dedicated home office workspace which is free of interruptions.
