What We're Looking For:Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is looking for a Traffic Engineering Associate for our Georgia office. This position will be an embedded employee at the GDOT District Traffic Operations office in either Jesup, Georgia or Tennille, Georgia. Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is an employee‑owned company with a strong culture of quality, delivery and innovation.Responsibilities:Prepare various types of traffic studies such as traffic engineering studies, intersection safety analysis, interchange analysis, and assist with corridor planning documentsProvide intersection and corridor operational analysisAssist with the development of intersection operational improvementsPrepare traffic signal and signing/pavement marking designsUsing Synchro software develop traffic analysis and help implement signal timing plansParticipate in project site visits with other project team members as neededAssist with transportation planning studies as neededPerform and review traffic counts, speed studies, access permits, and safety studies for the Georgia Department of TransportationPrepare and review traffic studies to determine appropriate treatments and traffic control to resolve safety and congestion issuesWork with other disciplines such as survey, roadway design, and environmental to increase engineering knowledge and facilitate successful project deliveryDemonstrate strong attention to detailPerform other duties as requestedEducation & Experience Qualifications:B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited university0-3 years transportation or traffic engineering experience preferredKnowledge and skill in Microsoft Office and Excel is a must.
