As a Staff Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department, you'll apply your specialized skills in ionizing radiation, directly contributing to successful patient outcomes in a role characterized by both independence and collaboration. Schedule/Hours:
- Day shifts, Monday through Friday between 8am-7pm (shift hours vary each week)
- Weekends required as needed
- Contract commences after May 9
Qualifications & Credentials: - Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy program; Associate's degree or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Radiation Therapy preferred
- Current ARRT Radiation Therapy certification (ARRT-T)
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Red Cross or equivalent)
- Proven competency in patient treatment and simulation procedures
Key Responsibilities: - Deliver precise radiation therapy per oncologist and physicist instructions, adhering to rigorous safety protocols
- Perform patient assessments and adapt care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
- Participate in quality control monitoring and daily equipment warm-up
- Document all treatments and outcomes in the EMR
- Educate patients and families about therapy and side effects
- Serve as a clinical instructor, providing guidance and feedback to radiologic and radiation therapy students
- Assist in on-call rotation and contribute to additional department needs
