The position reports to the Chief Quality Officer within the Quality Division and provides leadership to clinical performance improvement nurses, specialists, and project managers. Direct repots include performance improvement RNs and quality analysts, while key collaborators include Nursing leadership, Chiefs of Service, case management, infection prevention, and the Clinical Quality Analytics team. The RN Manager, Quality & Performance Improvement leads the Clinical Performance Improvement Department, a cross-functional team that supports every service line with high-impact projects and standardized protocols. The environment is fast-paced, highly collaborative, and data-informed.
As the RN Manager, Quality & Performance Improvement, the role oversees daily operations; sets performance improvement priorities; leads mortality review; and directs initiatives in high-volume, high-risk, problem-prone, and high-complication areas. The RN Manager standardizes care via protocols and order sets, mentors staff, and partners with physicians. They serve as the enterprise lead for CMS and The Joint Commission (TJC) Core Measures abstraction/extraction and submission-owning specification accuracy, data integrity, timely validated reporting, audit/feedback, and survey/pay-for-performance readiness. This is mission-critical to compliance, accreditation, public reporting, and reimbursement, in close collaboration with Clinical Quality Analytics. Administratively, the role manages budgets, resources, timelines, policies, and relationships to sustain improvement.
