Associate Attorney — Litigation (3–5 years)
Carothers & Mitchell is a busy small law firm seeking an experienced Associate Attorney with 3–5 years of litigation experience (preferred). Ideal candidates are trial-ready, client-focused, and able to manage cases from intake through trial.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle civil litigation matters: discovery, motion practice, hearings, and trial preparation
- Draft pleadings, briefs, settlement documents, and correspondence
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda
- Manage client communications and case strategy
- Collaborate with partners and staff on case development
Required Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active state bar admission
- 3–5 years litigation experience preferred (insurance defense, civil rights, land use, or personal injury experience valued)
- Strong written and oral advocacy skills; courtroom experience a plus
- Ability to handle a high-volume caseload and meet deadlines
- Excellent research, organization, and client-management skills
