The role you'll contribute:
Responsible for conducting a variety of laboratory procedures in designated areas. This position entails analytical testing of blood and human biological specimens, requiring theoretical and practical knowledge and expertise. This role involves complex diagnostic and analytic assessments of specimens, interpreting data with precision and accuracy. In addition, this position facilitates selected aspects of laboratory processes, including workflow management, quality control, performance improvement activities, training of new employees, and maintenance of equipment. This role assists lab leadership in meeting goals across various areas such as Team, Service, Clinical, Market, and Finance. Responsibilities for this role include conducting laboratory procedures, performing diagnostic assessments and laboratory processes, training employees, and assisting lab leadership. May require on-call hours.

- Follows safety policies including the use of PPE, handwashing, and hazardous chemical handling, and complete required training for handling hazardous waste.
- Participates in laboratory and hospital performance improvement activities.
- Evaluates new laboratory techniques and procedures, assisting with data collection and special projects.
- Maintains laboratory equipment and spaces through cleaning and disinfection.
- Facilitates workflow and support education to clinical staff as needed.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
- Associate's in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution [Required] OR
- Successful completion of at least a 50-week official US military medical laboratory procedures training course and currently hold or have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician); or
- Qualified and served as high complexity testing personnel on or before April 24, 1995 in a CLIA-certified laboratory as of December 28, 2024, and have done so continuously since December 28.
