Yeshiva Ohr Yisrael is an all-boys private high school offering a classical Jewish education together with a fully-accredited college-preparatory general studies program. Our school schedule accommodates a dual curriculum with Jewish Studies in the morning and General Studies in the afternoon. We are looking for a qualified Science teacher to teach two periods in the afternoon. We are seeking a passionate science teacher to deliver engaging, hands-on instruction that develops our students' scientific thinking, problem-solving skills, and conceptual understanding. Your goal is to create a welcoming learning environment and provide students with the tools they need to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities:

Instruction & Planning

Plan and deliver Georgia state standards-aligned science instruction

Design lessons that promote critical thinking and scientific inquiry

Emphasize real-world applications of scientific concepts

Integrate laboratory experiments and hands-on learning experiences

Prepare and supervise lab activities

Ensure proper use and maintenance of lab equipment

Enforce all safety procedures and protocols

Classroom Culture & Management

Maintain a structured, respectful, and focused learning environment

Encourage curiosity, questioning, and intellectual risk-taking

Assessment & Communication

Assess student understanding through classwork, labs, tests, and projects

Communicate regularly with parents and provide timely feedback

Fulfill all responsibilities and assignments in a timely manner

Communicate clearly and professionally with students, parents, and other faculty

Be flexible trying different methods of teaching and engaging students

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher in a science-related field

Experience with laboratory instruction

Strong content knowledge in Biology & Chemistry

Preferred experience teaching in a middle or high school
